About Salary Calculator (CTC to In-Hand)

Understanding CTC vs. In-Hand

CTC (Cost to Company) is the total amount a company spends on an employee. However, this is rarely the amount you see in your bank account. Your take-home (or "In-Hand") salary is the amount left after various deductions.

What does this calculator deduct?

  • Employee PF: Usually 12% of your Basic Salary.
  • Employer PF: In most Indian CTC structures, the employer's 12% contribution is also included in your CTC, meaning it must be subtracted to find your actual gross salary.
  • Professional Tax: A state-level tax, typically around ₹200 per month.
  • Income Tax: We calculate an estimated annual income tax based on the New Tax Regime slabs (which do not require 80C or 80D investments).

Note: This is an estimation. Actual salaries depend on your employer's specific breakdown of Basic, HRA, and Special Allowances.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this calculation 100% accurate?

No, this is an estimation. Every company structures Basic, HRA, and Special Allowances differently. Additionally, the income tax calculated is a rough estimate based on the standard New Tax Regime without considering specific exemptions like 80C (Old Regime).

Why is Employer PF deducted from my CTC?

In India, most companies include the Employer's contribution to your Provident Fund (12% of Basic) as a part of your total CTC figure. Therefore, to find your gross salary, the employer PF is subtracted from the CTC.
